Every Holy Thursday – at 19 ‘o clock starting from Santa Croce church The procession of Gubbio has a secular tradition; it is a representation of the Passion: The “Sacconi” (from the name of the currency of the Brotherhood of the Holy Cross of Foce) show the symbols of the Passion and precede the statues of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows. The procession goes through the city streets illuminated by the light of torches , and is accompanied by two choirs singing the Miserere, a penitential song with many voices passed down orally.
